Mooney Fly-Out „Visit of the Panzer-Museum in Munster“ , 27 - 28 APR 2023
BY Reinhard Kammerer
On Thursday, April 27, we meet at the Army Airfield Faßberg (ETHS), base of the Transport Helicopter Regiment 10 (“die Heideflieger”) between 10:00 and 12:00 local time (08:00 and 10:00 UTC). After a snack we will receive a short overview of the Regiment and maybe also an opportunity to see a NH-90 Transport Helicopter.
At 13:00 hours we travel by bus to Munster and the Panzer Museum, where we will receive a guided tour of about 90 minutes. UPDATE (Mar 20, 2023): Guided tour is fully booked - but the museum can be visited independently.
At 16:00 hours we go on by bus to the Landhotel Bauernwald in Müden/Örtze. After the check-in and a short relaxing phase we will meet in that hotel’s restaurant around 19:30 hours to have dinner together.
After a hopefully good night’s sleep in the country of the “Heidschnucken” (i.e. a type of sheep typical for that area in Germany) and a tasty breakfast, the bus will take us back to the airfield on Friday, April 28, at 10:00 o’clock for our trip back home or wherever you want to go.
The cost of the trip will be € 125 per person. Included are those items in the program printed in bold characters (with the exception of drinks during the dinner or at the bar) as well as the landing and parking charges at the Airfield.
For the accommodation, there is a contingent of rooms reserved at the Landhotel Bauernwald under the code “EMPOA” with single (€92 – 105) and double (116-136) rooms. The participants are asked to kindly take care of their reservations on their own via E-Mail to
I will centrally obtain the landing permission required for the landing at the Military Airfield. There is no AVGAS available. The Airfield can be reached by VFR and IFR. Supplementary information concerning procedures and military security etc. will be mailed by myself well in time.
Please send your notice of participation with names of the participants and your aircraft’s registration to
I am looking forward to a hopefully successful and pleasant spring-fly-out of the EMPOA-Mooniacs!
